Take risks with bathroom vanities

Furniture style vanities can be a great way to make your bathroom feel a little less cookie cutter and a little more custom. Here are 3 ways to add appeal to your bathroom vanities.

1) “Show me some leg!”

Legs are a great way to transform a standard cabinet into something more special. Just by raising the cabinet up on little feet can go a long way to customize the design. Especially for smaller bathrooms it allows a little visual space and you can see more of your pretty floor! I recommend leaving a minimum of 4-6” under the cabinet so you can reach a vacuum extension or Swiffer underneath for cleaning.

2) “Leave some breather space”

There is no rule that states cabinets need to touch the wall. Even in a small space, pulling the vanity away from the wall allows it to sit prominently in the bathroom and read more like a furniture piece. Again, use the 4-6” rule for easy cleaning.

3) “Come rest on my shelf”

Open shelving in a hot trend in kitchens right now. And the open shelf look is making its way into bathrooms too. Open shelving under a storage vanity allows for rolled towels, baskets for bath toys or toiletries, or even some pretty styled elements.
